Vero Diaz

Founder of RiverSoul Creative and Vero Photography, both looking to spark inspiration and ignite your personal voice.

I am a Toronto based artist, working with lens based work, movement, creative writing, watercolours, and mystical art. Recently, I have been developing my artistry within lifestyle and spiritual photography which includes an artistic process that includes body, mind, and spirit. I am interested in connecting people to re-establish relationships with their bodies, with nature like trees, rivers, and non-human species. I have a decolonial art practice that intersects spirituality and ancestral indigenous knowledge and creative ways of being.

I completed my Masters at York University in latinx transformation & decolonial art practice. I investigate themes of latinx identity, migration, mestiza spirituality, fluidity, the erotic, and queer futurity. I spent a year under d'bi young's mentorship through the Transdisciplinary Artist Residence in the Watah Theatre where I produced a one-woman bio-mythic multimedia performance called Red Surrender.
